Featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, this action-comedy received “average” reviews from both critics and audiences upon its release and saw an average opening at the box office. With its first week in cinemas now concluded, it’s time to assess whether the film can be deemed a box office hit or miss.

As per Sacnilk.com, Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur starrer Telugu action-comedy film, “The Family Star” earned approx. ₹ 5.75 Cr on its opening day. Instead of seeing any growth, the film witnessed a huge drop during its first weekend earning ₹ 3.45 Cr on the first Saturday and ₹ 3.1 Cr on the first Sunday.
The upcoming weekdays were no different, after a disappointing response through the weekend the film dropped even further in the upcoming weekdays earning only between 1-2Cr through Monday-Thursday. The film concluded its first week at the box office with total earnings of around ₹ 18.25 Cr. As per the portal, the film now stands at a domestic total of ₹ 18.55 Cr.

About The Family Star
The Telugu film follows the story of Govardhan Rao (played by Vijay) who shoulders numerous responsibilities, despite being the youngest among his siblings and having a grandmother. He assumes the role of managing the family affairs and meticulously handles their finances, often expressing the myriad challenges he faces. However, when Indu (Mrunal Thakur) rents a section of his house, she brings about significant transformations in his life.
