Big Update! Kamal Haasan CONFIRMS ‘Indian 2’ & ‘Indian 3’

Renowned for his versatility and charm across various genres, Kamal Haasan has made a mark in both South Indian cinema and Bollywood. In a recent interview with The Hindu, the actor discussed his upcoming projects. Kamal confirmed his upcoming film, Indian 2 and Indian 3 and also provided a glimpse into his character in the Prabhas-led film, Kalki 2898 AD.

When asked about his absence from the silver screen in 2023 following Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram, Kamal unveiled his lineup of projects for 2024. Confirming that he is working on “Indian 2 ” and “Indian 3″ he stated, “I can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production because quantity doesn’t matter, quality matters. I have completed Indian 2 and 3. Post-production is happening on Indian 2 and we start post-production on Indian 3 maybe after we finish this.”

Kamal Haasan who is also set to appear in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, discussed the film. He mentioned, “The shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life will start soon after the campaign ends. Also, I’ve done a cameo in a film called Kalki 2898 AD.”

Kamal Haasan’s film Indian 2, announced in 2018 and filming starting in 2019, faced delays due to budget issues, an on-set accident, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Disagreements between Lyca Productions and director S Shankar further postponed shooting. Now, reports indicate that filming has wrapped, and there are plans to release the movie on May 9, the same date as its prequel, Indian, which was released in 1996. However, official confirmation is awaited.

Indian 2 boasts an extensive cast featuring Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rahul Preet Singh, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
