2023 marked the release of several major South blockbuster hits like, “Jailer”, “Salaar”, “Adipurush”, “Leo” and others. With budgets of more than 50-100cr, these movies shattered several box office records to become the biggest blockbusters of 2023. Following the same, today we bring you the top 5 “South Indian” actors who came out as the highest-paid actors in the industry in 2023.
- Rajinikanth
On the first spot is the Tamil film industry’s megastar, Rajinikanth. South superstar Rajinikanth delivered his major blockbuster hit film, Jailer in 2023. As per the reports, Rajinikanth was paid a whopping Rs 110 crore as remuneration. Apart from this, the actor was also given an extra 100cr from the producer making it a total Rs 210 crore as his salary for Jailer.
2. Prabhas
Following Rajinikanth is Telugu superstar Prabhas, who delivered two major blockbuster films- Adipurush and Salaar. As per the reports, Prabhas charged a staggering Rs 150 Crore for his role of “Ram” in Adipurush. He also charged a total of 100cr for Salaar and an additional 10 percent from the box office collection of the film.
3. Vijay Thalapathy
On the 3rd spot is Tamil superstar, Vijay Thalapathy who was featured in two major blockbuster South hits, Leo and Varisu in 2023. As per the reports, Vijay Thalapathy received a total of Rs 125 crore for the film, Varisu, and a whopping Rs 120 crore for Leo.
4. Kamal Haasan
Another highest-paid actor from the South film industry is Kamal Haasan. As per the reports, Kamal Haasan charged a whopping Rs 50 crore for his film Vikram in 2022. Kamal Haasan will soon be seen in the film, Kalki 2898 AD for which the actor has charged approx. 15cr.
5. Allu Arjun
Last but not least is Telugu film industry superstar, Allu Arjun. As per the reports, Allu Arjun who will soon be seen in Pushpa 2 has charged a staggering Rs 210 crores for the film.
