South Indian Actor Mohanlal Sets an Unbreakable Record with 25 Consecutive Box Office Hits in a Single Year

The Hindi film industry boasts of iconic stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Kamal Hassan, but it is the southern superstar Mohanlal who holds an exceptional record. With a career spanning over 40 years and more than 340 films to his credit, Mohanlal has emerged as a force to be reckoned with.

In the year 1986, Mohanlal achieved an extraordinary feat by starring in 34 consecutive films, both as the lead and in supporting roles. Astonishingly, around 25 of these movies turned out to be super hits at the box office, a record that remains unbroken till date.

Making his debut in the film “Thiranottam” in 1978, Mohanlal also ventured into Bollywood with Ram Gopal Verma’s “Company” in 2002. The film not only marked his entry into Hindi cinema but also became the highest-grossing film of that year. Portraying the role of police commissioner Veerappallil Srinivasan, Mohanlal’s acting prowess impressed actors like Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi, who lauded his remarkable performance.

Apart from “Company,” Mohanlal appeared in other Bollywood movies such as “Ramgopal Varma Ke Aag” alongside Amitabh Bachchan and “Teez.”

Looking ahead, the talented actor is set to star in the upcoming film “Jailer” alongside Rajnikanth. Directed by Nelson, this Tamil language action comedy is scheduled to release on August 11, potentially clashing with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s “Gadar 2.”
