The wait is finally over as our favorite Dayaben is finally returning to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The true fans of TMKOC will know that Dayaben was the heart and soul of the show and ever since her character went missing, there was a big void in the serial. Actress Disha Vakani played the iconic role of Dayaben from 2008 to 2017. She took a maternity break and never returned after that. Her sudden exit left the viewers in shock and even the makers couldn’t replace her. Neither the makers of the show, nor the actress herself ever spoke about her comeback. However, the wait is finally over. Disha Vakani is finally returning to entertain us as Dayaben.
Producer Asit Modi made the big announcement as the show completed 15 glorious years. He said during the recap of the show, “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist is Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Her comeback is also hinted at during the episodes as there’s chatter of Dayaben returning to Gokuldham around Diwali.
Meanwhile, a lot of actors have quit TMKOC during these years. This includes Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta, Bhavya Gandhi, Raj Anadkat and Jennifer Mistry. Jennifer had a controversial exit from the show as she filed a case of sexual harassment against the makers.
