Adipurush OTT Release: Om Raut’s directorial Adipurush was released in theatres on 16 June 2023 and left the audience quite unimpressed. Within two weeks, the film has almost disappeared from the big screens, owing to the bad reviews and boycott against the film. Though the advance booking of tickets raked phenomenal numbers on the opening weekend, the film crashed on the first Monday. There are many films that don’t work well in theatres but get a good audience on OTT. That’s what the makers are hoping for, next! Even before the film’s release, the makers had signed a deal with an OTT platform for the digital release of the film.
The digital streaming rights of Adipurush were acquired by Amazon Prime Video. The film is expected to start streaming online by the end of July. It is reported that the digital rights were sold to Amazon Prime Video for Rs 250 crore. However, now that the film has tanked at the box office and is being boycotted by the audience, Amazon Prime might re-negotiate the deal with the makers.

Adipurush is officially a flop at the box office. Even then, it has easily recovered its making cost. Adipurush is said to be made with a budget of Rs 500 crore, The makers earned over Rs 430 crore even before the film’s release, by selling music rights, digital rights and Television rights. The film made Rs 300 crore within four days of its release. But it barely managed to survive thereafter.

Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series. It features Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage.
