Just a few days ago, Rachel Zegler created a bit of a firestorm on social media as she revealed that she will not be in attendance at The Oscars despite her movie West Side Story receiving seven nominations. And recently, the actress has confirmed that she will be presenting at The Oscars 2022.
West Side Story actress took to her Twitter to react to her being announced as one of the presenters in a list which includes the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Momoa, and tennis star sisters Venus and Serena Williams. She tweeted, “well folks, I can’t believe I’m saying this but… see you on Sunday! the absolutely incredible team at @Disney and our snow-white producers worked some real-life magic, and I am thrilled to be able to celebrate my @westsidemovie fam at the Oscars.”
She continued, “it’s not lost on me that being able to shoot a film the scale of snow-white during COVID is not easy, and any adjustment to our schedule is no small sacrifice.” The actress concluded her tweet while expressing gratitude to the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences as well as Will Packer who is producing the show for making it happen.
Just a day prior it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Zegler had been invited to present at the gala after the controversy surrounding her lack of invitation had picked up steam. The publication also reported that the talented actress is currently in London shooting the Snow White remake but sources revealed that accommodations were being made so she will be able to make it to the gala event.
