Just like every year, the Golden Globes mark the official start of the awards season of 2023. However, this year’s award session was a little different, as last year, the red carpet event didn’t air following Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the governing body for the Globes, had a severe diversity problem among its members.

Movies
Everything Everywhere All At Once
The comedy-drama film bagged awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. Everything Everywhere All At Once follows an ageing Chinese immigrant who is swept up in an insane adventure, in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is one of Marvel’s highly anticipated releases of 2023. And the Black Panther sequel gets a Golden Globes nod for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. The film follows after the death of King T’Challa, the people of Wakanda fight to protect their home from intervening world powers. Marvel recently unveiled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ott release date. The sequel will be available to stream on Disney+ on February 1.

Babylon
Starring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, Babylon bagged Best Original Score. Babylon is a story of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. If you want to watch Babylon then you have to visit the theatre or wait until the film gets available on any Ott platform.

RRR
Indian film RRR received a golden globe in the Best Original Song category. RRR is a fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they started fighting for their country in the 1920s. You can stream RRR on Netflix.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio
Pinocchio won the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture, Animated. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the animated film reimagines the story of Pinocchio, the wooden puppet who becomes a real boy, in this inventive and gorgeous stop-motion animated film. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is available to stream on Netflix.

Elvis
Austin Butler won a Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for his breathtaking performance in Elvis. The film explores the life of American music icon Elvis Presley, from his childhood to becoming a rock and movie star in the 1950s while maintaining a complex relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Elvis is available to watch on HBO Max.

The Fabelmans
Directed by Steven Spielberg, this coming-of-age drama film received Golden Globes for Best Director, Motion Picture; Best Picture, Drama. The Fabelmans follows young Sammy Fabelman, who grows up in post-World War II era Arizona, and aspires to become a filmmaker as he reaches adolescence, but soon discovers a shattering family secret and explores how the power of films can help him see the truth. The Fabelmans is currently available in theatres.

Tár
The psychological drama film won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama. Set in the international world of Western classical music, Tár centres on Lydia Tár, widely considered one of the greatest living composer-conductors and the very first female director of a major German orchestra. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Television Series
The Bear
This tv series won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy. The Bear follows a young chef from the fine dining world who returns to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop. Stream The Bear on Hulu.

Euphoria
Zendaya bagged Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama for her stunning role in Euphoria. The hit series gave a look at life for a group of high school students as they grapple with issues of drugs, s*x, and violence. Stream Euphoria on HBO Max and Disney+.

Abbott Elementary
It seems like it was a golden year for Abbott Elementary. The tv series received awards in the categories of Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, Comedy, or Drama Television Series; Best Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy; Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy. Abbott Elementary follows a group of teachers brought together in one of the worst public schools in the country, simply because they love teaching. Stream Abbott Elementary on Hulu.

Ozark
This series won awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, Comedy, or Drama Television Series. The drama series follows a financial advisor who drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder money to appease a drug boss. Ozark is available to stream on Netflix.

Yellowstone
