Margot Robbie Opens Up On Her ‘Acting-Crisis’ Before Filming Barbie: “Oh My God, I Don’t Know How To Do This”

Barbie Star Margot Robbie reveals about her experience & phase of acting crisis before commencing the shoot for the Greta Gerwig directorial!

‘Barbie’ indeed was 2023’s biggest blockbuster of Hollywood which also did a banger performance in the Indian Markets. ‘Margot Robbie’ the main lead actress of the film, who also happens to be the producer of the same, has recently opened up on overcoming ‘acting crisis’ in relation to her most ambitious project Barbie in a recent interview with los angeles times. Director-Writer ‘Greta Gerwig’ also recalled the time when the Barbie star Robbie was having a meltdown on the prospect of taking on the role.

In a conversation with Los Angeles Times, Margot Robbie revealed, “I went to Greta’s house and had that crisis. I’d spent years trying to get this movie going. And suddenly we’re going to shoot the thing. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know how to do this.’ It happens before every single movie I’ve ever done. A few weeks out, I have this meltdown where I’m like, ‘What am I doing? I don’t know how to act. Everyone’s going to suddenly realize that I can’t do any of this, and it’s going to be terrible.’ And then it is just sheer panic.”

Filmmaker Greta Gerwig additionally elaborated her concerns about understanding the situation with respect to Margot, ”I have a distinct memory of Margot coming over to my house before we started shooting and having a bit of an actor crisis: ‘How am I doing this?’ It’s the actor equivalent of facing a blank page,” she added.

Meanwhile, in terms of the film’s economics, Barbie had grossed $1.44 billion and achieved several milestones, including becoming the highest-grossing film of 2023 and the 14th highest-grossing film of all time.
