Kim Kardashian is facing backlash for posting some massive spoilers for the latest superhero sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home. The 41-year-old reality star seemingly watched the latest movie, which is currently only playing in theaters and not on streaming services yet, from her own home and shared two photos from the movie, taken in her home theater, on her Instagram story. Spoilers ahead!
And this outraged fans on social media because the two images spoiled the highly-guarded secret of two former Spider-Man stars returning for No Way Home, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Both Maguire, who starred in director Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s, and Garfield, who starred director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man movies, had been rumored to surface in the movie for months, if not years.
However, the movie fully introduces the concept of the ‘multiverse,’ which is comprised of other parallel universes, from which both Maguire’s Peter Parker and Garfield’s Peter Parker come from. After a botched spell creates a separation in the multiverse, Maguire and Garfield find themselves in the new Peter Parker’s played by Tom Holland world as they work together to save the world as they know it.
Kardashian posted two photos from the end of the film, the first featuring Maguire and Garfield in their Spider-Man suits, sans masks. The second photo featured both of these Spider-Man’s giving Tom Holland an emotional hug at the end of the film. Kim didn’t add a caption with either of these photos, but fans lashed out on Twitter after simply scrolling through her Instagram story spoiled the movie for them.
A user tweeted, “I’ve muted everything Spider-Man related on all my socials to avoid spoilers since I’m watching it tomorrow… Just for Kim Kardashian to post a whole f***ing spoiler on her ig.” While another adds, “OMGGGGG Y’ALL THE WAY KIM KARDASHIAN JUST COMPLETELY SPOILED SPIDER-MAN ON HER INSTA STORY LMAOOOOO!!! I AM SO DEAD LIKE NO I CAN’T WITH HER.” Meanwhile, the third user shared a GIF of Stanley from The Office adding, “Not Kim Kardashian spoiling Spider-Man for people.”
