Social media users were stunned by the release of a recent study naming Taylor Swift as the celeb with the worst private jet carbon emissions of the year so far. According to the data, Taylor’s private plane reportedly emitted 8,293.54 metric tons of carbon in just the last seven months. The data sparked multiple debates as well as humorous memes. However, one particular comment seemed to have caught the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum’s eye.
Khloe Kardashian liked an Instagram post that jokingly hinted her mother Kris Jenner may have been behind the recent story revealing Taylor Swift’s frequent private jet trips. The post was from the Kardashian meme account Kardashian Social, with a caption on the bottom reading, ‘Who leaked that Taylor Swift’s private jet took 170 flights this year?’ The post included a clip of Kris Jenner casually removing a pair of sunglasses before an interview, declaring she’s ‘Kris Jenner.’
Swift’s jet ‘has an average flight time of just 80 minutes and an average of 139.36 miles per flight,’ according to Yard, and ‘her total flight emissions for the year [are] 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s total annual emissions.’ Yard noted that in one instance, a Swift jet this year was flown for a 36-minute trip from Missouri to Nashville.
Meanwhile, a representative for the Grammy-winning singer told Buzzfeed News that Swift’s ‘jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals,’ and ‘to attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.’ However, the Kardashian-Jenner family did not emerge unharmed with the release of the list, as Kim Kardashian was seventh on the list and Kylie Jenner’s partner Travis Scott finished tenth.
Kylie and Scott recently were panned online for the same issues after Kylie posted a shot of herself and Scott in front of a pair of jets, captioning the image, ‘You wanna take mine or yours?’ The reality star then faced backlash for flaunting her and Travis Scott’s private jets on social media. Meanwhile, according to the Yard study, the total amount of private jet carbon emissions made by Kylie’s plane is far below the emissions outputted by Taylor’s private aircraft.
