An old video has resurfaced online where singer Justin Bieber can be heard saying that “London has the best Indian food.” The video is over a decade old when Justin appeared as a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s chat show. During the interaction, Jimmy asked Bieber, “What’s your favorite foreign food to eat on tour?” He added that he “can’t say pizza.”
The singer replied, “I like Indian. Indian food is so good.”
When Jimmy asked the specifics, Bieber said, “I like tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala. With the naan bread.” He then added, “London has the best Indian food.”
Justin then asked Jimmy, “Is there any good Indian places in New York?” to which the host replied, “My favorite place is called Tamarind. You’ll eat till there is “naan” left.”
Indians started criticizing Justin as this video went viral a few days ago. An Internet user wrote, “Someone tell this man that india has the best indian food.”
People dropped sarcastic comments like, “And India has the best London Bridge” and “And bollywood has the best hollywood actors.”
Someone pointed out, “London has India’s best diamond as well.”

While several people criticized Justin, a user came out in defense and said, “For everyone that’s wondering why he said London has the best Indian food because he hadn’t been to India till then. It’s an old video. You can tell he is really young in the video. he is not stupid. The food will always be the best in the country of it’s origin.”
Someone wrote, “People mocking him but London seriously has some of the best Indian restaurants.”
“No one will praise him to choose & appreciate Indian food but troll him for saying London has best Indian food,” reads another comment.
Justin Bieber first came to India in 2017 for his ‘Purpose’ tour at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Despite the insanely expensive ticket prices, the concert witnessed the attendance of approximately 40,000 people. He was supposed to return to India in 2022 and perform at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. However, the show was canceled due to his health issues.
