Eminem Writes An Open Letter To Listeners Offended By New Album Lyrics: ‘Listen Closely Next Time!’

Eminem’s lyrics from his brand-new album ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ are not for the “squeamish.” The rapper said so himself in a letter he addressed to the “Gentle Listeners” who were recently offended by his lyrics, specifically, about the bit on Ariana Grande’s Manchester Concert tragedy.

Eminem’s brand new album Music To Be Murdered By caught many fans off-guard by the rappers dark, chilling and violent rhymes. In the song ‘Unaccomodating’ featuring artist Young M.A the Rap God rapper made a reference to the extremely tragic bombing at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester back in 2017. The lyrics read, “But I’m contemplating yelling ‘bombs away’ on the game/Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting,” which received massive backlash from fans calling him “insensitive” and “disgusting”.

Slim Shady has finally responded to the people who were offended by his dark lyrics in an open letter that he addressed to the “Gentle Listeners” in which he said the album is designed to “shock the conscience”.

The 47-year-old rapper shared the dramatic-styled open letter on Instagram that even had blood dripping down on it that read, “Gentle listener: In today’s wonderful world, murder has become so commonplace that we are a society obsessed and fascinated by it. I thought why not make a sport of it, and murder over beats? So before you jump the gun, please allow me to explain.”

“This album was not made for the squeamish. If you are easily offended or unnerved at the screams of bloody murder, this may not be the collection for you. Certain selections have been designed to shock the conscience, which may cause positive action. Unfortunately, darkness has truly fallen upon us,” he continued.

“So you see, murder in this instance isn’t always literal, nor pleasant. These bars are only meant for the sharpest knives in the drawer. For the victims of this album, may you rest peacefully. For the rest of you, please listen more closely next time. Goodnight!” The Love The Way You Lie hitmaker signed off the letter with, “With deepest sympathy, Eminem.”

The letter also featured an inverted “E” logo with a knife driven into it making the letter look even more dramatic. The caption of the post read, “Cause, see, they call me a menace and if the shoe fits, I’ll wear it. But if it don’t, then y’all will swallow the truth, grin and bear it #Renegade #MusicToBeMurderedBy”.

Many of Eminem’s “stans” agreed with him and showered him with love and praise. One comment read, “Thank you for everything EMINEM. We all love you. You are so great. We know your good intention. The album was hale and strong!!! you were as cool as always!!!! ,” while another fan wrote, “The legend the goat the god its EMINEM.” A fan even went on to call it, “The best deepest sympathy letter ,” while one fan pointed out, “The fact that people have forgotten that he’s always been one to stir controversy.”
