Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Reveals Political Parties Approached Him For 2022 Presidential Run

The revelation comes after a 2021 poll of 30,000 American adults showed that 46% would support Johnson's presidential candidacy.

In a surprising revelation, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson disclosed that he was approached by multiple political parties last year, exploring the possibility of his candidacy for the US presidency. The Hollywood actor and former WWE wrestler shared this information during a guest appearance on Trevor Noah’s Spotify podcast, ‘What Now?’.

The revelation comes after a 2021 poll of 30,000 American adults showed that 46% would support Johnson’s presidential candidacy. Reflecting on this poll, Johnson stated, “That was an interesting poll that happened, and I was really moved by that. I was really blown away, and I was really honored.”

According to Johnson, at the end of 2022, political parties approached him, expressing interest in his potential run based on the poll results and their own research. He described the experience as unexpected and surreal, emphasizing that politics has never been his primary goal, stating, “As a matter of fact, there’s a lot about politics that I hate.”

While Johnson identifies as a “centrist” and “political independent” and endorsed President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, he has previously expressed interest in political roles. In the podcast, he mentioned, “I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring.”

During discussions with the parties, Johnson highlighted concerns about the impact on his family, particularly his time away from his eldest daughter due to his wrestling career. However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of running for office in the future, stating, “If that’s ultimately what the people would want, then of course I would consider it.”

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s potential entry into politics remains a topic of interest, with fans and political observers closely watching for any future developments.
