Cillian Murphy, portraying the titular character in “Oppenheimer,” took center stage by winning the Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Drama award. Murphy, elated beyond words, celebrated this milestone. Interestingly, despite starring in several of Nolan’s blockbusters, “Oppenheimer” marked Murphy’s first lead role under the esteemed director.

Before “Oppenheimer,” Murphy had delivered exceptional performances in Nolan’s films such as Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Dunkirk in supporting roles.

Christopher Nolan himself was honored with the Best Director award at the Golden Globes 2024. For Nolan, “Oppenheimer” held profound significance, akin to nurturing his own creation. The director’s years of unwavering determination and hard work finally culminated in this cherished masterpiece.

The winning streak for “Oppenheimer” began with Robert Downey Jr.’s victory as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the villainous Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s directorial triumph. Holding the esteemed award, Downey Jr. expressed gratitude, acknowledging Universal’s wholehearted support in crafting what he called “a remarkable masterpiece.”

“I am glad Universal went all in for Nolan and the crew to render a goddamn masterpiece,” he remarked with heartfelt appreciation.
