Chris Columbus Reveals How Donald Trump Intimidated His Way In The Movie “Home Alone 2”

Former President of USA, Donald Trump made his cameo in Home Alone 2. Director Chris Columbus narrated this experience.

In the ongoing Christmas and New Year season, we go for many special Christmas movie options, but that one film is still close to our hearts, “Home Alone”. The comedy film revolves around an 8-year-old guy, Kevin McCallister, who keeps every one of us intact in our seats till the end. Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are the two best movies of the 90s directed by Chris Columbus. Both parts tell the story of a guy who is left behind by his family at home and then how he does multiple things to save his home from the thieves. There is a cameo of the former president of the USA, Donald Trump, in the second part of “Home Alone”.  Director Chris Columbus shared this incident with a Business Insider.

In the sequel, Kevin is left behind by his family again and this time the family goes to New York. There was a part of the movie which had to be shot in the famous Plaza Hotel in New York.  And at that time, Donald Trump forcefully made his entry in the second part of Home Alone. The Home Alone director said, “Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee, and you are allowed to shoot in that location. We approached The Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, because we wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage. Trump said OK. We paid the fee, but he also said, “The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.”

After the shoot, Chris wasn’t sure whether the final cut would have his scene. When he went for testing before the audience, he was surprised at the reaction that scene got. He said that when they premiered it for the first time, people went crazy after watching Trump on screen. And therefore, he grabbed that moment and kept Trump in the final cut of the movie for the audience. But Trump made his way into the movie using his power.
