Bong Joon Ho Wins Best Director at the Oscars 2020

Parasite Director Bong Joon Ho wins Oscar for South Korean film beating the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.

After winning Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay, Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite wins Oscar for Best Director at the 92nd Academy Awards 2020. It’s the first time a foreign-language film has won the original screenplay Oscar since Pedro Almodóvar for Talk to Her back in 2003.

“Thank you. Great honor. Writing a script is always such a lonely process, we never write to represent our countries.” He then switched back to English: “But this is very personal to South Korea. Thank you,” Bong Joon Ho said in his award acceptance speech.

Parasite received six nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards: best picture, best director for Bong, best original screenplay, best film editing, best production design, and best international feature. The film has won three categories out of six so far.
