AP Dhillon Further Trolled For Justifying ‘Breaking Guitar’ At Coachella

Indo-Canadian singer AP Dhillon is facing criticism from Indian fans for smashing his guitar following his latest performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

AP Dhillon’s Coachella performance, one of the largest music festivals globally, was overshadowed by a controversial onstage incident: breaking his guitar, which drew criticism from some social media users. In response, the singer’s attempt to explain his actions with a post on Instagram backfired, sparking further trolling.

Accompanied by a collection of candid stage snapshots from Coachella 2024, including one captured just moments before he shattered his guitar, AP Dhillon penned the following in his Instagram caption: “The media is controlled and I’m out of control.”

During his Coachella 2024 performance, AP Dhillon honored the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. However, the netizens slammed the singer stating that the late singer Moosewala would have never done such kind of act.

A user wrote, “But Sidhu Moosewala would have also respected the musical instruments, being an artist, if he was here to see this. So before making loose statements like ‘media is controlled’, you better learn some good manners and values, buddy. God bless.”

For the unversed, during his recent performance at Coachella, the Canadian singer of Indian origin, alongside songwriter-rapper Shinda Kahlon, paid homage to Sidhu. As they performed their hit track “Brown Munde” on stage, the screen behind them displayed the message “Justice for Sidhu Moosewala.”

Renowned for his tracks such as “Excuses,” “Summer High,” “Dil Nu,” “All Night,” “Hills,” “Desires,” “Wo Noor,” “Majhail,” and “Brown Mund,” among others, the singer’s documentary series “AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind” premiered on Prime Video in August last year.
