Ana De Armas Doesn’t Like Social Media, Here’s Why!

The Knives Out (2019) star also revealed that she doesn’t use social media much, except for Instagram occasionally.

Being active on social networking sites has become one of the most important parts of the actors job in today’s time. Nowadays, the number of social media followers decide an actor’s popularity. But just like actors and filmmakers enjoy the benefits of social media (especially during the film’s promotion), they are also facing some drawbacks of being over reliant on social media. In a recent interview Hollywood actress Ana de Armas touched upon this same topic.

When talking to Vanity Fair for its Hollywood 2023 Issue, Ana De Armas explained how social media has become one of the prominent reasons why Hollywood doesn’t produce the same caliber of movie stars today that it used to. “I feel like the new generations don’t have the concept of mystery surrounding fame, because of social media,” she said. “There is so much information out there and oversharing. The concept of a movie star is someone untouchable you only see onscreen. That mystery is gone.” She continued, “For the most part, we’ve done that to ourselves — nobody’s keeping anything from anyone, anymore.”

The Knives Out (2019) star also revealed that she doesn’t use social media much, except for Instagram occasionally. “I barely use it because I just feel like things are always wrong on social media. And at this point I only have Instagram, and I barely use it because I just feel like things are always wrong on social media,” the actress shared. Ana also revealed that she only uses her Instagram because of her professional commitments “I would delete Instagram right now, but I can’t. I understand that I’m not just an actress. I have other brands that I’m working with and I have other commitments. It’s been good for Blonde and for films that I want to talk about.”
