Taapsee Pannu is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie Doobaraa. The drama mystery film is helmed by Anurag Kashyap. During a promotional event for the film, Taapsee Pannu was compared to Akshay Kumar as her career graph nearly matches that of the superstar. Hearing this the actress complained that her salary doesn’t match to that of Khiladi Kumar. Amidst this, director Anurag Kashyap mentioned that Akshay is the sixth-richest actor in the world.
During a recent interview, Siddharth Kannan told Taapsee Pannu that he read a tweet calling her a ‘lady Akshay Kumar’ for doing a lot of films. Taapsee said, “I will accept this compliment humbly if my paycheck matches his until then please don’t do that. He is the highest earning and highest tax payer and all that and mere ko itne nahi milte (I don’t get that much paid).” Anurag interrupted, “He is the sixth richest actor in the world.” To this, Taapsee said, “I am not even near that.”
In 2015 and 2019 Akshay Kumar reportedly ranked 52nd on the Forbes list of highest-paid entertainers in the world with earnings of USD 48.5 million approximately Rs 386 crore. He was the only Indian to be on the Forbes US list of World’s Highest Paid Celebrities in 2019. He ranked 33 with $65 million ( ₹ 517 crores) in earnings. However, in 2020, he ranked sixth among the highest-paid actors in the world. A major source of his income also comes from brand endorsements apart from films.
Akshay Kumar has multiple projects in hand, he releases 3-4 films every year. He is now gearing up for Rakhsha Bandha post the failure of the latest Samrat Prithviraj. He also has Ram Setu, Mission Cindrella, Oh My God 2, and Selfiee in the pipeline. He is also reported to collaborate with Dinesh Vijan next.
Anurag Kashyap and Taapse have collaborated for the third time after 2018 hit Manmarziyaan and 2019 Saand Ki Aankh. Dobaaraa is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is a unique story and has been screened at London Film Festival & Fantasia Film Festival 2022. The movie is arriving in theaters on 19th August 2022.
