Suresh Oberoi Breaks Silence On Vivek Oberoi & Aishwarya Rai’s Relationship, Says, “He Never…”

Later, he was asked whether Vivek and Aishwarya’s history ever affected their friendship with Big B. He answered they were never friends.

Suresh Oberoi, who suddenly came into the limelight after “Kabir Singh” through Sandeep Vanga’s “Animal”, turned 77 on Sunday, December 17. In an exclusive interview of Suresh Oberoi with Lehren Retro, Suresh Oberoi revealed many secrets from his personal life. And one is about the relationship of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his son Vivek Oberoi. He shaded light over his relation with the Bachchan family.

When he was asked how he handled Vivek’s colourful past life, he said that he was unaware of Vivek’s relationship with Aishwarya Rai, and he got to know it from a person in Bollywood. He said, “I had no choice as I also used to all these things when I was young. But in Vivek’s case, I didn’t know most of the things. Vivek never told me, Ramu (Ram Gopal Verma) and before Ramu somebody else told me. I told him not to do anything like this, at least on the set.”

Vivek Oberoi made his Bollywood debut through the movie “Company”, released in 2002. Before getting into a relationship, Aishwarya Rai was dating Salman Khan and after their break-up, Aishwarya and Vivek came close to each other in 2000. Both of them appeared together in the film, “Kyun! Ho Gaya Na”. It is said that they fell in love with each other on the set of this film, but they broke up with each other in 2003-04. And people assumed that Salman Khan was the reason for their break-up.

Later, he was asked whether Vivek and Aishwarya’s history ever affected their friendship with Big B. He answered they were never friends. He continued saying, “I was not a friend of Mr. Bachchan, I was his costar. We have an industry-wise relationship. My friendships were with Danny (Danny Denzongpa), Mukul (Mukul Anand) etc. So I never shared such a friendship with Mr. Bachchan. Yes, he invited me for a birthday, but most of the time he never makes things known to people.” But later he covered that saying whenever they meet, they greet each other nicely.

He clarified about his relation with Salman Khan, his father Salim Khan and Abhishake Bachchan when he was talking about Vivek – Aishwarya’s past relationship. He added, “I really liked that girl when she came home.  I was relief in Vivek’s case at that time and now also. And we all still meet each other very nicely. Whenever Salman Khan meets, he hides a cigarette and then talks to me as a part of respect. I always tell Vivek to touch Salim Ji’s feet. I also respect Salim Bhai. Things happen, but our relationships are good enough. Abhishek also meets my daughter Meghna in a good way. But there is no hatred for each other.”

Now Vivek is married to Priyanka Alva and everything is fine between Oberoi and Bachchan family.
