Shruti Haasan’s Mother Sarika Thakur Opens Up About Lack Of Money

Due to the pandemic, like many others, actress Sarika Thakur too had to face a financial crunch in her life.

Veteran actress Sarika Thakur started her career at a very young age. The actress is a mother to two popular actresses Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan. Not many people know that this veteran actress has been working since her childhood. Sarika Thakur is in the acting industry since the age of five. Since the time Sarika started working as a child actress she hasn’t stopped until she needed a break a few years ago. 

The actress shared a very dreadful experience faced by her during the lockdown. Due to the pandemic like many others, Sarika too had to face a financial crunch in her life. The actress was running out of money which made her take a very bold and big step in her life. She also disclosed that one year break turned out to be a five-year break for her as the pandemic had hit. Sharing about the same she said, “That was so brilliant that one year turned into five years. So I was just happy doing all that”. 

“Lockdown happened and the money ran out, so where do you go? You go back to acting because in theatre you just get like Rs. 2000-2700 and you can’t do anything so this is why I was not at all there,’” she added.  

Apart from acting, this talented personality has also done costume designing, and sound designing, and worked as an associate director for Kuruthipunal (1995) under Raaj Kamal Films International. 

She has worked in films like Satte Pe Satta, Kranti, Dil Hi Dil Mein, Shriman Shrimati, Bheja Fry, Manorama Six Feet Under, Parzania, and many more. 

She married Kamal Haasan in 1988 and got divorced in 2004.
