Vikas Bahl directed Supernatural Thriller “Shaitaan” has captivated audiences’ attention with a mysterious plot. R. Madhavan’s adeptness at acting, Ajay Devgn & Jyotika’s on-screen give and take are something which intact people to their seats till the end. In the ongoing trend of action films, this supernatural thriller succeeded in crossing the Rs. 50 crore mark at the box office. Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan opened at a fairly good amount of Rs. 14.75 crore at the domestic box office on March 8. And on the first Monday after release, i.e. on the 4th day, there was a massive drop in collections. The movie managed to earn only Rs. 7 crore in India on March 11, Monday. It observed the lowest collection of these four days.
On the second day, it collected Rs. Rs. 18.75 crore and on the first Sunday on March 10, it garnered an impressive amount of Rs. 20.5 crore net with an increase of nearly 9%. Weekend collections of the movie are really more appreciable than opening day earnings. Now the total earnings of all 4 days is Rs.61 crore at the domestic box office. And the total box office collection is Rs. 79.25 crore worldwide.
Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan’s mystery could garner some additional amount as it didn’t face a box office clash with any other movies. Apart from R. Madhavan, Ajay Devgn & Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj also portrayed a significant role throughout the movie. It got a rating of 7.9 out of 10 on IMDb which is a user-based platform. The movie also marks the first collaboration between these three stars in the film industry.
Talking about professional ventures, Ajay Devgn will next appear in Boney Kapoor produced “Maidaan” which is set to release in April 2024, whereas R. Madhavan will be next seen in a cricket-oriented film “Test”. Netflix announced its upcoming web series “Dabba Cartel” in which Jyotika has a prominent role and her another venture as a producer will release in July this year, “Sarfira” starring Akshay Kumar.
