Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” is roaring at the box office and setting records. The first-day collection figures are now out, and the actor has broken his own record as “Jawan” beats “Pathaan” in day one box office collection.
According to Sachnik reports, “Jawan” collected Rs 75 crore on Day 1, which is Rs 18 crore more than “Pathaan” (Rs 57 Crore). Apparently, the Hindi version alone minted Rs 65 crore, while the remaining Rs 10 crore came from the Tamil and Telugu versions.
If we compare “Jawan” with other recently released movies like Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2” and Rajinikanth’s “Jialer” first-day collection, it’s evident that Shah Rukh Khan has taken the lead in the game. “Gadar 2” collected Rs 40 crore on its first day, while “Jailer” minted Rs 56.6 crore on its first day.
Earlier on Thursday, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude to fans, saying, “Wow, I have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily to the theatres and even outside. I am so overwhelmed and will surely do the needful as soon as I catch my breath in a day or so. Uff!! Love you for loving #Jawan,” he wrote.
The actor also acknowledged his fans who thronged Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre at 6 a.m. to watch the first-day-first-show. He wrote, “Love you, boys and girls. I hope you enjoy the entertainment. I stayed awake to see you go to the theatre. Big love and thanks.”
The movie has been receiving a massive response at the box office, and fans who have seen the movie have called it a blockbuster and the best movie of Shah Rukh Khan to date. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt have cameo appearances. It also features Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureishi, Riddhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover.
