Manoj Muntashir Regrets Defending ‘Adipurush’ While Receiving Backlash For His Dialogues ‘My 100 % Mistake’

Manoj Muntashir elaborates on his intention of Not hurting religion or causing trouble to Sanatan Dharma and defame Lord Ram in Adipurush.

‘Manoj Muntashir’ is as eminent writer and lyricist in the Hindi Film Industry. The artist is highly appreciated for penning evergreen songs like ‘Galliyan’, ‘Tere Sang Yaara’, ‘Kaun Tujhe’ , ‘Dil Meri Na Sune’ and many more for numerous blockbuster films in Bollywood. Recently Muntashir was brutally criticised for the dialogues he wrote for ‘Prabhas’ starrer magnum opus film ‘Adipurush’. According to audiences the texts, wordings and vocabulary were not appropriate to the standards of a devotional-drama film based on the ‘Holy Ramayana’; as it included modern-day street slangs and lingos.

While addressing the ‘Adipurush’ controversy at Aaj Tak’s event, the National Award winning poet reveals that during it’s backlash times- mistakes were made but weren’t intentional in nature and also admitted going ‘A 100 Percent Wrong’ during the same. “There is no doubt about it. I am not such an insecure person that I would defend my writing skills by saying that I have written well. It’s a 100% mistake. But, there was no bad intention behind that mistake. I had absolutely no intention of hurting the religion and causing trouble to Sanatan or to defame Lord Ram or to say something about Hanuman ji which is not there.” He further added “I would never even think of doing that. Yes, I made a big mistake…I have learned a lot from this accident and it was a great learning process. Will be very careful from now on. But it does not mean that we will stop talking about ourselves”.

In relevance to his clarification remarks while the controversial movie matter was in news; Manoj expressed “I feel that when people were furious, I should not have clarified at that time. This was my biggest mistake. I should not have spoken at that time. If people are angry with my clarification, then their anger is justified. Because that was not the time to clarify and today I understand that mistake.”

The star-studded mega budget movie ‘Adipurush’ helmed by ‘T-series’ failed to do wonders at the box office due to it’s weak scripting and terrible word of mouth reception from fans. Director in charge ‘Om Raut’ was also widely trolled across all social media platforms for the film failure.
