On Saturday morning, the makers of Adipurush shared the look of lead actress Kriti Sanon, who will be playing the role of Janaki in the Om Raut-directed film. While one of the posters features a close-up shot of the actress, the other poster also features the film’s lead actor, Prabhas, in a backdrop. Adipurush, directed by National Award-winning director Om Raut, is based on the Ramayana and features Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman. The film also features Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh.
In one of the posters, Kriti features Janaki, who wears a white saree with a saffron shawl wrapped over her head. The second poster shows the beauty of the actress in a close up shot. It can be seen in a red bindi and sindoor, and the eyes are full of tears, which gives information about her role. Kriti wrote in the caption, “The eternal chant, Jai Siya Ram.” Prabhas also shared the same poster on his official Instagram handle.
The film will premiere in theatres on June 16, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film was initially slated to release on August 11, but the makers changed the date to avoid the clash because Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chadha was also released on the same day.
Apart from Adipurush, Prabhas will also star in Nag Ashwin’s K Project, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. It also has Prashant Neel’s Salaar in the pipeline. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon, who last starred in Shehzada with Kartik Aaryan, will next reunite with her Heropanti co-star Tiger Shroff for her film Ganpath, which is slated to hit theatres on October 20.
