Within a few hours of the release, Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus was leaked online. Internet users were able to make free download of Ponniyin Selvan 2 full movie in HD quality. As per a report by Times of India, the film has been leaked on 7 illegal websites. Generally, torrent websites like Tamilrockers, Movierulz etc provide download links of the latest releases. Ponniyin Selvan 2 free download links are also being shared on Telegram groups.

On April 27, the makers of the movie made an official announcement requesting the audience to watch the film in theatres and show their support against piracy. They also shared a link asking the audience to make an official complaint if the full movie or any content of the film is being pirated.
Though the film has been leaked online, no action has been taken yet. Very recently, the big-budget Hindi film “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” became a victim of piracy.
