After this incident, the term “nepotism” became quite popular and common people started criticizing star kids. The trolling and bashing rose to such an extent that even the celebrities start owing up to their privileges. Meanwhile, Karan Johar got so fed up that before anyone could blame him for promoting nepotism, he began to make jokes about himself and his friends in the industry. Did you know that Karan once called Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan “the brand ambassador of nepotism?”
It happened in 2018 when Karan Johar and Shweta Bachchan appeared as guests on Neha Dhupia’s chat show BFFs With Vogue Season 2. In the fun segment called “Say it or strip it”, the guests had to answer Neha or otherwise strip something off them. Karan, who failed to give many answers stripped his shoes and jacket. Meanwhile, Shweta had to let go of her bracelet already. Neha Dhupia then said to Shweta, “If you answer this, I will strip. Who has no game in the industry?”
Shweta replied, “I don’t know that many people,” to which Neha countered, “Oh, you are a stalker. You know everyone.”
Shweta said, “Yeah, but I don’t know if they have game or not.”
When Neha asked her to strip, she argued, “I don’t know anyone. That’s an invalid question. I don’t know people.”
Karan interrupted her and said, “You know people. You are from the industry. You are the brand ambassador of nepotism. You are Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter. Jaya Bachchan’s daughter. Abhishek Bachchan’s sister.”
Neha insisted that she had to strip a shoe or something. However, Shweta still argued that it is an invalid question because she doesn’t know people personally. She refused to strip and Neha had to move to Karan to continue the segment.

Shweta’s appearance on the show wasn’t loved by the audience. A user wrote, “Karan is literally being so nice to follow whatever is to, the women seems so mean by not even respecting Neha. Not answering any of her questions calling them irrelevant deliberately oooohhh my goodness.”
