Karan Johar Gets Angry As Katrina Kaif’s Film Clashes With “Yodha”, Receives Flak

Karan Johar is facing flak on social media after he called out the makers of Merry Christmas for clashing with his film Yodha in December. Yesterday, Tips Films announced the release date of Katrina Kaif’s film Merry Christmas. This film is directed by Sriram Raghavan and features Vijay Sethupathi as male lead. The film will clash with Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha. Makers of both films have planned a pan-India release. As the release date of Merry Christmas was announced, Karan expressed his anger on social media.

Taking to Instagram threads, Karan wrote, “Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile…”

Though Karan was already upset with the clash, netizens began criticizing him. A user wrote, “Karan should be the last person talking about “unity among Bollywood people” cuz he neither owns the date “15th December” nor have the right to tell other people when they should release their movies, he does not run the industry nor his bullying is going to make everyone bow down to him.”

Someone sarcastically said, “It’s called Merry Christmas maybe that’s a hint around when it would be released. Why would someone need to call him to tell him when Christmas is?”

A person replied, “And not to forget you too clashed with ajay’s shivaay and even released simbaa just a week post zero. So it’s fine karan movies do clash it’s normal.”

A user lashed out at Karan as he said, “Picture ki script achi likh na chomu, kya dates se Darr Raha hai.”

“Oooo really??? He knows nobody can beat Vijay sethupati and he’s scared ke ek aur flop…. Be a sport and compete. That’s what healthy competition is all about. And out of all the people, karan johar saying this sounds funny. He’s the biggest gossip mogger and has alllll the news whose doing what and where…” someone wrote.

A user took a dig at Karan Johar by writing, “So according to KJo, a movie titled Merry Christmas cannot release on Christmas.”

Yodha is an action thriller film featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. It is produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions.

The film was initially scheduled to release on 7 July 2023 which was then postponed to 15 September. It was further delayed and the makers finally announced that it will release on 15 Dec 2023.
