Actress Kangana Ranaut is poised to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on the BJP ticket. The BJP recently unveiled its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming polls, selecting Kangana, a vocal advocate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to represent her birthplace, Bhambla.
Taking to X (Formerly known as Twitter) Kangana announced her candidacy and wrote, “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks”.
She outlined plans to conduct an extensive campaign in Mandi and emphasized her dedication to the party’s goals over personal fame. Reflecting on the emotional significance of starting her political journey on Holi, she looked forward to reconnecting with her family and community during the campaign.
Apart from her Arun Govil, known for portraying Ram in the popular TV serial Ramayan, has been nominated as a candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha seat. Recently, Arun Govil joined the BJP alongside Anuradha Paudwal. He is set to replace BJP MP Rajendra Agrawal in the Meerut contest.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in the aerial-action film, ‘Tejas’. Unfortunately, Tejas was a huge box office failure. She will next be seen in her upcoming film, Emergency which will be a historical drama based on true events that unfolded in 1975 under the leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
