Jeetendra Reflects On Working With Randhir Kapoor & Rakesh Roshan In ‘Mother’ 1999

Jeetendra shared his experience of reuniting with his squad Randhir Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan and Rekha in the movie 'Mother' 1999; called it a picnic.

Bollywood’s Jumping Jack celebrates the glorious 82 years of his life today on April 7. Jeetendra has worked in more than 200 movies, which include ‘Farz’, ‘Humjoli’, ‘Mawaali’, ‘Suhaag Raat’, ‘Parivar’, ‘Parichay’, ‘Hum Tere Aashiq Hain’, ‘Mera Saathi’, ‘New Delhi’ and many. Each movie was different from the other and it flourished him as an actor. One such movie is ‘Mother’ released in 1999 was a refreshing experience for him as he appeared with his old squad once again after a long time. He termed the time he spent on the set of Mother as Picnic. 

Mother movie reunited many legends from the industry Rekha, Jeetendra, Rakesh Roshan and Randhir Kapoor. They played the lead characters in the film directed by Saawan Kumar. These are the actors who groomed the Bollywood film industry during the 70s and 80s. Randhir Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Jeetendra and Rishi Kapoor were like four angles of a square. They were not only colleagues but indeed good friends of each other. In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, Jeetendra shared his experience of working in Mother. When he was asked about how he felt after sharing with his beloved friends, he replied, “It was fun. It was just a picnic. I just dreamed how and when we shot the film, I don’t know. It looks like we went there out to fun and within four five days we finished the film, we shot for 60/70 days.” Jeetendra expressed his desire to work with the same squad again in some other movies. He further added, “I wish if this film runs and I pray to god this film runs. If this runs, then people are going to cast us together. And we come in a packaged deal; either all of us or none of us.”

He furthermore elaborated on his experience of working with the all time beautiful actress Rekha, saying “Oh, it was beautiful. I have done maximum films with her. She is none only a fabulous actress, a fabulous human being too.” 

This 82-year-old veteran not only acted in the films, but he successfully handled the huge business of Balaji Motion Pictures, a production house. He was last seen in the ‘Baarish’ web series released in 2020.
