Mrunal Thakur who is giving many hits in Telugu industry, expresses her desire to work in a Hindi romantic film.

There is a sudden shift in the genre of Bollywood movies. Now almost all the movies are action and drama oriented, and we are missing Bollywood love stories in this rush. We have all grown up watching the movies of King of Romance: Shah Rukh Khan but yes, there is an actress, a queen of romance who has kept the romance alive in the film industry, Mrunal Thakur. A television actress who made her way to Bollywood and Telugu movies has nailed the past few years with her mesmerizing hits like “Sita Ramam” and the very recent “Hi Nanna”. But this actress expressed her regret about not getting love stories in the Bollywood industry. She said that she is not popular enough to get a romantic film in Bollywood.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Mrunal Thakur talked about working in Hindi love stories. She said, “I am not popular enough to get a love story yet. Am I wrong? I have to be popular enough in order to get a love story, no?” She is working on many movies right now but those are not romantic movies, she explained. She said that she is tired of proving herself to filmmakers, and she wants it to happen organically. Mrunal really wants to do a love story in the Hindi film industry. Her previous hits Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna are Telugu movies. Now she said that she is done asking all the filmmakers and right now clueless about how to reach out.

Mrunal did “Jersy” with Shahid Kapoor, which was a sports drama. She did another sports drama with Farhan Akhtar in the movie “Toofaan”. Her “Dhamaka” with Kartik Aaryan was about terror and it was a thriller. And the recently released “Pippa” is a biographical war drama. So Mrunal has really not done a pure romantic film in the Hindi film industry, but yes, she will hit the screen again through “Family Star”, a Telugu movie along with Vijay Deverakonda.
