Film’s Director Breaks Silence On Saina’s Poster Goof-Up

Director Amol Gupte has finally reacted to the controversy on Saina's poster.

Fans are waiting to see the biopic of badminton player Saina Nehwal for the longest time now. And now the wait is finally over as the film is releasing this month. Recently, the makers of the film dropped its first poster and teaser. However, the poster was heavily criticized by the fans on Twitter.

In the poster, one can see a hand reaching out for the shuttlecock which uses the word ‘Saina’ instead of the feathers. Twitter users believe that the poster goes against the basic rule of badminton. People mentioned that this looks like the tennis serve and said that it better be Sania Mirza’s biopic.

After heavy criticism and trolling, film’s director Amol Gupte has reacted to the whole controversy. He wrote on his social media, “Too much speculation in the digital media about the poster… “looks like a tennis serve… Saina doing a Sania” etc etc…If Saina is the flying shuttle, then clearly, the girl’s hand with the National colours wristband is the hand of the Indian Girl Child aspiring to reach Saina’s height!!! High Concept Poster by Rahul Nanda has to be unfortunately explained in detail to a quick reacting, impatient world… not stopping to think before rubbishing anything!!! Socho!!!”

Well, what are your thoughts on this now?
