Actor Malvika Raaj, who is best known for playing Pooja in the iconic family drama ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ is all set to make her Bollywood comeback this year. K3G was Malvika’s first film. And after that, she focused on her studies and maintained a good distance from films. As she grew up, she did modelling and now she is all set to make a mega entry in Bollywood as a lead actor.
Malvika will be seen in an action film called ‘Squad’. Talking about the film, Malvika said, “There’s a high level of international action in Squad. Our action director is Keir Beck who has directed the stunts for films like ‘Mad Max’ and ‘Matrix’. So, our film also has Hollywood-like action sequences. We have shot the film in Belarus. It’s currently in the dubbing stage.”
Commenting on the film’s release, she said, “I think it would be a digital release but I am not sure. I am hoping for the October release.”
Malvika is making her debut as a lead actor with an action film. When asked that why she chose this film, she said, “It’s because Squad is very different from a regular debutant film. It’s not like a typical love story of a college girl or anything like that. It’s a crisp action film and I am doing the action myself. So, I thought it would be a great film to make my debut as a lead actor.”

Talking about her preparations for the role, Malvika Raaj said, “We had a trainer who came down from Poland to train us for 2-3 months. He taught us the basic punches, jabs etc. I am playing a sniper in the film. So, he taught me basic gun knowledge and combat action. I have never done action before and therefore, it was a learning experience for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would love to do more action movies after Squad.”
The film also stars Rinzing Denzongpa (son of popular actor Danny Denzongpa). Malvika and Rinzing are childhood friends. When asked about her experience of working with Rinzing, the actress said, “It was very easy. We know each other for so many years, so, we were already comfortable in each other’s company. It was fun working with him. We have many things in common and we bond over things like food. He is a sweetheart.”
