When we talk about Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachhchan, there comes a lot of things in our mind, may it be that iconic step from “Kajra Re” or the blockbuster “Sholay” or KBC’s hot seat, or it may be that angry young man from “Don”. Don, released in the year 1978, was a hit film and people remembered Big B for this film. But now a rumor is running on social media that Amitabh Bachchan decided not to work with Don Director Chandra Barot after that movie because of the one song “Khaike Paan Banaras Wala”.
A user posted the entire incident on Reddit. According to this rumored controversy, Amitabh Bachchan was disappointed with the song “Khaike Paan Banaras Wala”. After the shoot, he felt that it hadn’t come out good, and he didn’t want that song in the final cut. As per the post, Big B felt that song was “Uncool”. But after the release, when that song became a megahit, he decided that he wouldn’t collaborate with Chandra Barot, and he wouldn’t work with anyone who would work with Chandra Barot. He indirectly warned Bollywood using his prominent place.
A Reddit user posted, “The director (Chandra Barot) thought it was important to show the contrast between the two characters and did not listen to Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh took it on his ego and made it very clear that he won’t work with anyone who works with Chandra, or even associates with him.” He further cited the source of information that he got this news from one of his film-making professors who worked in the industry. He mentioned that it might be true, or it might be drunken talk or exaggerations.
But it’s true that after the movie Don, Chandra Barot didn’t make any notable films. He hardly made 2 or 3 films and one of them was a Bengali film. His one film was under production named “Neil Ko Pakadna Impossible” but till date it hasn’t been released.
