Speaking about her experience of working in the critically acclaimed Netflix film Ray, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor says, “It was everything I could’ve dreamed of. I always wanted to work with Vasan sir so that was super exciting. Being in a Netflix original is obviously the best. There were such great actors around me and there was so much I learnt from all of them”.

When asked about what is the next genre as an actor that she wants to explore, on this Akansha shares, “I don’t believe I have any sort of plan as to how I pick roles or movies. I am just very intuitive and if I read something that I like and feel others would want to watch I go for it. All three of my films have been completely different and my roles have been completely different and I’m still just exploring myself as an actor”.

Revealing about that one thing which made her say a yes for Ray, Akansha stated, “I actually said yes to the movie before I read the script because I really wanted to work with sir. Of course after I read it, this was a no-brainer for me because to just be part of anything that the great Satyajit Ray has written was a dream come true”.

Talking about how the film happened to her, Akansha says, “So it was the peak of lockdown and I got a call from my agent saying Vasan Bala sir wanted to speak to me, we got on a call and he told me he loved my work in Guilty and wanted me to be a part of his next, and literally on that call I said yes …and the rest is history”.

Opening up on the ways in which she keeps herself motivated and positive in tough times of COVID-19 pandemic, Akansha asserted, “I’d be lying if I say I don’t have down days but talking to my friends , definitely working out , reading and hanging with my family have been lifesavers”.

Furthermore, speaking about her passion of acting since childhood, Akansha reveals, “Oh yes before I knew what it meant and I could make money off of it , this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life”.

Finally talking about that one character closest to her heart and the reason behind it, Akansha added, “Of course that would be Tanu from Guilty because it was my first role and it was also a very complicated character and so to be able to have played her somewhere in her journey was challenging but also very thrilling”.
