Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is mourning the sudden demise of his brother Anil Devgn who passed away on 5th October due to cardiac arrest. He was 45-years-old and worked as a director and screenwriter in the Bollywood industry.
Ajay and Anil were cousins. Ajay is the son of late Indian director Veeru Devgn and Anil Devgn was born to Prem Prakash Devgn.
Ajay is devasted by the sudden death of his cousin. He wrote on Twitter, “I lost my brother Anil Devgan last night. His untimely demise has left our family heartbroken. ADFF & I will miss his presence dearly. Pray for his soul. Due to the pandemic, we will not have a personal prayer meet.”
Anil Devgn worked as an Assistant Director in 4 films featuring Ajay Devgn. These were Jaan, Ithihaas, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, and Hindustan Ki Kasam.
When Ajay Devgn decided to don the hat of the producer with the 2000 film Raju Chacha, Anil came on board as a director. The brothers then also collaborated for the 2005 film ‘Blackmail’. Anil was also the Creative Director of 2012 release ‘Son Of Sardaar’ starring Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha.
As shared by Ajay Devgn, no prayer meet will be held due to the pandemic. However, celebrities from the industry extended their condolences via social media.
