Manoj Muntashir, the writer of the highly controversial movie Adipurush, has been facing severe backlash from all corners due to the contentious dialogues featured in the film. Directed by Om Raut and starring popular actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, the movie’s trailer release triggered a wave of criticism that has persisted since then.
Fans and audiences have expressed their anger and disappointment over the dialogues, which they believe have deeply hurt their sentiments. In response to the uproar, Manoj Muntashir took to Twitter to issue an unconditional apology. He humbly wrote, “I understand that Adipurush has made some people feel upset. I sincerely apologize with folded hands. I hope that Prabhu Bajrang Bali blesses us with togetherness and gives us the strength to follow our respected Sanatan Dharma and serve our wonderful nation.”
The situation escalated further when the Allahabad High Court strongly reprimanded the movie’s makers for the dialogues that allegedly hurt the sentiments of the nation. The court went on to issue a notice to Manoj Muntashir, demanding an explanation within a week. The court also raised questions about the censor board’s decision to grant approval for the film despite its controversial content.
Adding to the mounting pressure, the All India Cine Workers Association penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging them to take legal action against the filmmakers.
