Adipurush Box Office Collection Day 1: Om Raut’s directorial Adipurush was released worldwide yesterday. The film witnessed massive footfall on the opening day, all thanks to the advance booking. The film opened to poor reviews from the critics and the audience. The dialogues, casting and screenplay have also upset the audience so much that they have started a boycott trend against the film on social media. The film is rated 2.8/10 on IMDb. Despite all these things, the film earned a whopping amount at the box office.

The much-talked-about film is estimated to have earned Rs 90 crore nett in India. In the Hindi language alone, the film raked Rs 36 crore and it raked good numbers in the Telugu belt as well, courtesy of the fan-following of superstar Prabhas. Certain reports mention that Adipurush earnings worldwide are approx Rs 140 crore.

The film managed to earn this whopping amount due to the advance booking prior to the release. The film sold over 4.7 lakh tickets for the first weekend shows of the Prabhas-starrer. However, with the poor reviews flowing in, we can expect the collections to drop significantly in the upcoming days. That said, the film has already recovered its making cost. Made with a budget of Rs 500 crore, Adipurush is said to be one of the most expensive films of India. Even before the film’s release, the makers earned over Rs 400 crore via satellite rights, music rights, digital rights, and other ancillary rights.
Adipurush is a mythological film based on Ramayana. The film features Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh.
