Joining the likes of globally renowned bollywood icon Priyanka Chopra and stellar performer Hollywood actress Emma Watson, here comes another new bollywood face in the form of Sonu Sood.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s outstanding social work for the safe transportation of the labourers, migrants and students back to their home towns along with also offering the labourers job opportunities and transferring them money in their accounts has not gone unnoticed and on a pan India along with a global level he has got unconditional love, praises, and support for his this selfless deed.

Sonu Sood has joined the list of well known global icons Priyanka Chopra, Emma Watson and other stars as he was recently awarded and conferred upon with the prestigious and coveted Special Humanitarian Action Award by UNDP. For the actor this was a ‘rare honor’ and also he was very ecstatic about it.

Recently during the global COVID 19 global pandemic lockdown, Sonu Sood has been relentlessly and tirelessly working all through the pandemic to help all the stuck, stranded and homeless people of our country India and for his this selfless deed and the good work done, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has conferred upon him the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award.

It’s true that with this, Sonu has officially joined the list of global bollywood icon Priyanka Chopra, Hollywood actors Emma Watson, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio and others who also have been awarded by the UN bodies for their work. The actor was overjoyed to receive the prestigious honour and expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the same.

The award was awarded and bestowed upon Sonu in a completely virtual ceremony that was held on Monday evening. The actor has been awarded for helping the migrants stuck in different areas during the lockdown, students stranded across different parts in India, creating job and employment opportunities along with also providing free education to children amid the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. The actor expressed that getting honoured by the UN is extremely special and is one of its kind. He also called it a ‘rare honour.’

Recently to a leading digital news website Sonu said, “I have done whatever little I have done, in my own humble way, for my fellow countrymen without any expectations. However, to be recognized and awarded feels good.”

The actor further said that he supports the goals of the UN and that will do his bit in achieving SDG’s by 2030. He mentioned that mankind and earth will benefit from the proper implementation of those goals. The actor has been tirelessly working towards helping people of the country. Sonu, even chartered flights to bring back students from other nations stuck due to pandemic. Several celebs too have lauded his humanitarian work and people too have termed him as messiah.”
