Actor Shahid Kapoor injured during the shoot of the upcoming movie Jersey

Over the next few days, Shahid Kapoor cannot shoot, as he has a severely bruised lower lip. After the swelling subsides he'll resume filming

During filming for the upcoming movie Jersey, Actor Shahid Kapoor was injured. Shahid was shooting in Chandigarh for the cricket film, a remake of a Telugu blockbuster, and he was hit by a ball while a rehearsal shot, a source said close to the makers.

“Shahid was playing perfectly fine and rehearsing before the shot when the ball unexpectedly came and hit him on the lower lip and cut open a wide gash where blood started gushing out.“He was immediately taken for treatment and a doctor was rushed to see him. To close the wound, stitches were sutured by the doctor,” the source stated.

The actor would not shoot as he has a severely swollen lower lip for the next few days. After the swelling subsides, he will schedule filming, and once the injury is healed completely.

Jersey tells the story of a brilliant but unsuccessful cricketer who, in his late thirties, wants to rejoin the team motivated by a desire to serve the Indian cricket team and fulfills his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift.

The sports-drama in the Hindi version is under the direction of Gowtam Tinnanauri, who also led the original 2019 Telugu movie, with Nani in the lead. In August this year Jersey, which also features Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor, will be released.
