A nationwide lockdown has been imposed because of the novel coronavirus outbreak. The situation has brought the whole nation to a standstill and also together to spread awareness about the virus. Whilst the whole world has been forced to stay indoors, the cops, doctors, and other medical staff are on the frontline fighting the war against the virus.
To pay tribute to these frontline warriors, Bollywood filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar have put together- I for India, a concert to raise funds for Give India Foundation. The fundraiser will also support those who are displaced by the novel coronavirus outbreak.
According to the reports, Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Kapoor are amongst others who will come together to perform at the concert to help Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar to raise funds and pay an ode to the frontline workers. With both the filmmakers sharing a good bond with all the Bollywood celebs they have been coordinating with them for weeks now and have almost got all of them ready to participate for this noble cause.
The actors have been asked to share individual acts not exceeding four minutes. Since we all are all cooped up at our homes because of the lockdown, the celebs will be recording their performances from their respective homes and sending them to Zoya and Karan. The ace filmmakers will then put together everything for the fundraiser.
The sources reveal that the concert will be around two hours long and it will feature various shows like singing, dancing, speeches, and other stand up acts. Hrithik and Alia are speculated to sing a few retro songs. The War actor will also play the piano, reveal the sources.
There are speculations that comedian Kapil Sharma will also be joining in for the fundraiser and needless to say he will perform a gig at the concert. Various singers namely, , Arijit Singh, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar, Pritam, Sonu Nigam, Shankar Ehsan Loy, and other composers will be performing on their hit songs and Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, and Asha Bhosle will join and give motivation speeches urging people to stay united amidst the crisis.
On the side note, Karan and Zoya have also managed to get Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and other big names who will interact with the fans during the concert.
