As the Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer film Jigra is round the corner, the makers of the films have geared up for the promotional campaign. Everyone from the direction, production and acting team is busy giving interviews and attending events as the film’s release date comes around. In a similar round of events, Vasan Bala, opened up in an interview about how he was compelled to cast Alia Bhatt as the lead female for the film Jigra.

In a recent discussion between Jigra team and Anmol Jamwal, Vasan Bala revealed how the actor had only prepared a rough script with the outlining of the entire story behind Jigra. He turned up to producer Karan Johar on a call, only to later be informed that Karan had already forwarded the script to Alia Bhatt. While Vasan was still not ready with the perfect write-up and was on the initial stage of his work, this step by Karan Johar disappointed him. Vasan said, he was not at-all happy and asked Karan about why he sent it so hurriedly to Alia Bhatt, without even discussing it with him.
In the interview, Alia revealed that she said ‘YES’ to the script reading just the first half of it and seeing her previous works, she felt like it could be a cool collaboration between her and Vasan Bala, the filmmaker of Jigra Although she questioned about knwoing the second half of the script, she still felt ready to be working in the film because of the storyline it had.
Jigra is slated to hit the theatres on October 11th,with Vedang Raina chosen as the male lead of the film. Alia Bhatt is also co-producing the film alongside Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
