Venkatesh Daggubati Talks About His Web Series Rana Naidu

Netflix India dropped the trailer of Rana Naidu on Wednesday. It is an upcoming action family drama series featuring Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, Abhishek Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi and Sushant Singh. Venkatesh has paired with his nephew Rana for the first time for a project.

At the trailer launch event, Venkatesh Daggubati opened up about playing the character of Naga in the series. He said, “This guy is the most unpredictable guy. I have done many characters, but this character has been really special. It’s a very different and unusual character. He has got so many shades of emotions. There’s a lot of good and lot of bad in this guy. He is quite a fun guy. You are gonna hate him at times, you are gonna love him at times. That’s the best part. The thing is, wherever he goes, there are a lot of bad things happening. That’s the whole problem with this guy. He is a real mess. He wants to get close to his family but it doesn’t really happen. His kids really hate him and he doesn’t know why. This guy is a little scary too. I have never done something like this before. I got to explore my emotions in such a different way.

When asked about his experience of working with Rana Daggubati, he replied, “It was fantastic to work with my nephew Rana. He has done a wonderful job. But this series is not a usual family drama, where I am soft with him or singing a song. I mean, that’s what they expect in films of me and my nephew coming together. But this was really hard with some hard-hitting dialogues.”

Rana Naidu will start streaming on Netflix on March 10.
