LaalSinghChaddha: Laal Singh Chaddha actor Naga Chaitanya is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, meanwhile, in a recent interview, the actor opened up on comparisons between Laal Singh Chaddha and Forrest Gump, he said, “the writing, nuances and the purpose of my character are poles apart from the original.”
Naga Chaitanya Says Laal Singh Chaddha & Forrest Gump Are Poles Apart
In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in South actor, Naga Chaitanya opened up on differences between Laal Singh Chaddha and Forrest Gump, he said, “Not really. I had watched it (Forrest Gump) when I had gotten the part of Bubba. I just wanted to revisit it to observe the framework of the character. But, they are two different characters and can’t be compared at all. We have taken the framework of Forrest Gump, but the writing, nuances, and the purpose of my character are poles apart from the original.”
Talking about watching Forrest Gump the actor said, “When I was in school, Forrest Gump was a cult classic. But, I couldn’t understand the essence of it as I was young. I couldn’t process it for what it was supposed to be. But, when I became an actor, I remember how many times I watched the film purely for Tom Hanks’ performance. What a reference point the film has become for many filmmakers, be it the screenplay or the way a lot of things were done.”
Talking about his upcoming projects the actor said, “I have finished shooting for the Amazon Prime series called Dhootha, directed by Vikram Kumar. It’s shot in Telugu, but we’ve cast people from all industries. There’s Parvathy, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and many more people. It’s a horror show and it’s a space I am trying it for the first time. I play a journalist who’s got grey shades. I think it’s going to be interesting.”
Laal Singh Chaddha is an Aamir Khan Productions film starring the Dangal actor alongside Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles. The official adaption of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump is directed by Advait Chandan. The romance drama is set to release on 11th August.
