August recorded many South releases like Rajinikanth’s major blockbuster Tamil film “Jailer”, Chiranjeevi starrer Telugu film “Bhola Shankar” and Dulquer Salmaan starrer Malayalam action thriller “King Of Kotha” among others. While many much-anticipated releases like Prabhas starrer “Salaar”, Vijay Deverakonda starrer “Kushi” and others are still in the queue. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the upcoming Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam films releasing in September 2023.
- Kushi (1st September)
Releasing in the first week of September is the upcoming romantic drama Telugu film “Kushi” starring South actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda in the lead roles. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film be releasing this year on 1 September.

2. Chandramukhi 2 (19th September)
Another much-anticipated release in September is the remake of the 2005 Tamil film, “Chandramukhi”. Directed by P Vasu and produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran Chandramukhi 2 will feature Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut alongside Raghava Lawrence in lead roles. The film horror-comedy will be released in the theatres on 19th September.
3. Salaar Part 1-Ceasefire (28th September)
Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, Salaar Part 1 is an upcoming much-anticipated and highly awaited Telugu action-thriller film that will feature Baahubali actor Prabhas alongside Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. The film will be released in the theatres on 28 September 2023.
4. Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty (7th September)
Apart from Prabhas, Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty will also be making her way to the theatres with the romantic-comedy film, “Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty” directed by Mahesh Babu P. Apart from Anushka Shetty, the film will also feature Naveen Polishetty in the lead role. The film will be released in the theatres on 7th September.
5. Mark Antony (15 September)
Last but not least is Adhik Ravichandran’s fantasy adventure Tamil film, “Mark Antony” featuring actors Vishal, S. J. Suryah, Ritu Varma, and Selvaraghavan as lead characters. Actors Sunil, Abhinaya, and Y. G. Mahendran will also play a significant role in the film. The Tamil film is set to be released in the theatres on 15th September.
