- Salaar
Starring Prabhas, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is an upcoming Telugu action-thriller film directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The film is expected to hit the theatres on 28th September 2023.
2. Kushi
Starring famous South actors Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kushi will be a romantic-drama film featuring a love story between an army officer and a Kashmiri girl in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir. Directed by Shiva Nirvana the film is expected to hit the theatres on 1 September 2023.
3. Pushpa 2: The Rule
After a humongous box office success of Pushpa: The Rise, director Sukumar will now be bringing the audience “Pushpa 2: The Rule” featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles.
4. Jailer
Featuring South superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, Jailer is an upcoming Tamil, black comedy action film directed by Nelson and produced by Kalanithi Maran. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film will also feature, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff. The film is expected to hit the theatres this year on 10 August.
5. Kalki 2898 AD aka Project K
Kalki 2898 AD is yet another much-anticipated South film of 2024. The epic science fiction film will feature Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani with South superstar Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan. The film is expected to hit the screens on 12 January 2024.
Apart from these “Bholaa Shankar” starring Chiranjeevi, “King Of Kothaa“ starring Dulquer Salmaan, “Indian 2“ starring Kamal Haasan, “Leo” starring Vijay and “Vanangaan” starring Suriya are some of the other much-awaited films of South which will be releasing in 2023-24.
