Legendary ace South industry superstar Rajnikanth's upcoming and much awaited big budget Kollywood action film "Annaatthe" shoot gets postponed.

This is going to be another long wait for the prolific ace actor’s large fan base prevalent all across the globe to see him on the film screens as their favorite actor RajniKanth’s upcoming action film “Annaatthe” shoot gets postponed.

It’s not surprising news as after the loss of one of most precious gems of South industry in the form of SP Balasubrahmanyam who was an amazing versatile singer, the industry is still deeply mourning his loss and in these circumstances of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic in India which is still in full force, the makers of the film didn’t want to take any risks which is the main reason that RajniKanth’s upcoming action film “Annaatthe” shoot gets postponed.

“Annaatthe” is one of the most highly anticipated Kannada language Kollywood action drama films that has been generating a lot of buzz and curiosity since the film’s announcement and inception. The film has an apt and ensemble star cast in the form of RajniKanth, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushboo.

The filming and shooting schedule of Annaatthe was stopped abruptly in March 2020 due to the unprecedented coronavirus global pandemic. While now many film makers and production houses are resuming their work and have started the film shooting and production on their sets after the pan India level unlock phase, this film’s makers and team do not want to take the risk with their lead actor Rajnikanth’s health citing that his well-being is of utmost importance to them.

Due to which, they are in no hurry to start shoot of their film again as their movie cast along with the filming crew safety and health is very pivotal to them, which is true as they don’t want Rajnikanth to get exposed in front of the 200 plus crew members during the shoot.

Whilst talking to a leading Indian newspaper publication a source who is closely involved in the film’s development said, “Around 40 days of shoot remains. The idea was to complete the film by year-end to get it ready for a summer release. However, days before getting back to work, the film producer Kalanithi Maran has called off the shoot keeping Rajinikanth’s safety in mind.”

The source further also spilled beans about the fact that, “The South film industry is still shocked by the untimely demise of singer SP Balasubrahmanyam and don’t want to risk the life of any actor who’s in the vulnerable age bracket, as cases are on the rise. A lot of money has already been invested on the set, but the producer is willing to take the financial hit.”

This is also an amazing piece of news as we all would be able to hear late legendary singer SPB’s voice yet again as before his death he had recorded the introductory track for RajniKanth’s much awaited Kollywood action drama film “Annaatthe” which is one of the last few recorded songs of the singer and this first ever collaboration between Rajnikanth and Siva is being touted as a huge one since the filmmaker is a superhit director and has given some phenomenal hits in the past.

Siva’s directorial venture titled Viswasam clashed with Rajinikanth’s last release ‘Petta’ on the box office earlier in 2019 where both these films which were Pongal releases had done amazing business by setting the cash registers ringing and also were box office hits.

Annaatthe is Rajinikanth’s third successful association as an actor with production house Sun Pictures after their hit collaboration in the past with Enthiran and Petta.

National award winning actor Keerthy Suresh who plays an important role in Annaatthe during a recent interview with a leading digital entertainment website told, “The shoot of the film is pending. I don’t think I can talk about much about it right now because there’s a long way to go. So, let’s talk about this a little later”. She also quipped, “Yes, I’m playing the lead role…it’s a lead role”.
