Manjummel Boys Becomes FIRST Malayalam Film To Cross 200cr Mark

Malayalam survival thriller, “Manjummel Boys” has now became the first Malayalam film to cross the 200cr mark at the box office.

“Manjummel Boys,” the survival thriller inspired by a true story, continues to receive glowing reviews and overwhelming responses from audiences, evident from its box office performance in just weeks since its release.

According to the Film Exhibitors’ United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), “Manjummel Boys” has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first Malayalam film to surpass the ₹200 crore mark in global box office collections.

With this achievement, directed by Chidambaram, the film has surpassed the previous record held by Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018 film, establishing itself as the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema history.

Chidambaram officially announced on Tuesday that “Manjummel Boys” had joined the prestigious ₹200 crore club in just 26 days after its release. He shared the news via a post on his Instagram account, showcasing a film poster accompanied by the caption, “Highest worldwide grosser. Thank you all.”

“Manjummel Boys” portrays a survival drama, depicting the challenges faced by a group of friends from a small town as they strive to rescue one of their comrades trapped in a cave in Kodaikanal.

Based on true events at a tourist destination in Kodaikanal, ‘Manjummel Boys’ has drawn inspiration from this backdrop. The film depicts the ordeal of a young member of a friend group who falls into the Guna caves and becomes trapped, while the others scramble to save him against diminishing hope.
