Kartik Aaryan has been riding high on success for his latest blockbuster film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Post the massive hit of Bollywood after the lockdown, the actor made headlines when reports suggested that he hiked his price. There were reports claiming that Kartik Aaryan is acting pricey and increased his fees.
The actor was rumored to raise his remuneration, however, a filmmaker who is working with him called such news baseless. Reacting to reports the popular director dismissed all the rumors surrounding Aaryan’s fees. The director said that the actor has “kept a balance in his ask right now” with the producers.
The director told ETimes, “Kartik is a very grounded guy in reality. He is very proud of the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but it definitely hasn’t gone to his head. All the rumours about him hiking his fee are baseless, he is very understanding of the commerce of filmmaking. Even with our producers, he has kept a balance in his ask right now.”
Last month, Kartik opened up on similar reports to Bollywood Hungama. He said: “The digital and satellite rights of a film is sold depending on the name of an actor, producer, director and the team. If there is a hike in there, obviously it is normal that it will lead to a hike in everyone’s prices. However, if there isn’t any, we should keep that in mind. Whatever the case may be, I believe none of this should put extra pressure on a film. And I am a firm believer of this.”
He added: “If the film is able to earn a certain amount on the table, possibly because of the combined success rate of the director, producer and everyone related to the film, then it obviously is going to benefit everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. However, the problem is when it adds pressure and when numbers fail to match. You need to find a balance because you don’t want the hike to seem unreal.”
Meanwhile, Kartik has wrapped up Shehzada with his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon. He is shooting for Satyaprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani. Apart from these, he has Freddy, Captain India, and Kabir Khan’s untitled next in the pipeline.
